On August 2nd, 2009, God blessed my wife and me with a baby boy whom we named C. J. Nelson weighing 6.6lbs.

The next day we received a visit from a woman who wanted to talk with us. Now pay attention because you are about to get the Newborn Photography Marketing Lesson that will make you say, “Hmmmmm…”.

I’m paraphrasing what she said below:

“Hi, I’m Elizabeth. The hospital would like to give you a picture of your baby for free. There is no obligation to do anything else. We will even set up a web page with that picture, so you can share it with your family and friends. Here is some information and I will be back tomorrow. If you have any questions, call the number listed in the brochure. Congratulations on the new baby.”

As she was leaving I smiled and laughed because I realized she had me ready to spend my money.

As a Marketer, I was analzying her “pitch” and it was simple yet effective.

Here’s why it worked:

1. I just had my newborn son and wanted to tell the world
2. She offered a free picture I could share with everyone via the web page
3. No obligation to purchase anything
4. I love my son and why would I not get a free picture of him

As I further analyzed the situation I realized the huge potential.

There are a few things that will occur as long as this world exist:

1. People will be born
2. People will go to school
3. People will get in relationships
4. People will die

The picture people are focusing on #1. This means they will always have a market for their service.

So, my question to you is, “Will you always have a market for your product or service?”
