It’s easy to stop wasting time when you know where you’re wasting it. But what if it’s something you enjoy doing that isn’t working for you? There is one tip I could provide to help you develop effective time management skills.

That tip is…OUTSOURCING

Take a good, long, hard look at your day and count the number of things you do that you cannot stand. Things that take away from areas you would love to focus on that could generate money.

While outsourcing gets a bad rap let me give an example that should open your eyes a little.

When you outsource it means you have someone else do the work for you. So, if you run a business and cannot perform all the tasks required you “outsource” the additional responsibilities and functions to an employee or an independent contractor.

Now let’s get back to those things you cannot stand or dislike doing. If you could pass those responsibilities on to someone else who can do just as good a job as you would you do it?

I’m sure you said, “Yes! But…”

You thought about the money you would have to spend in order to get the work done right? Trust me, I know what you’re thinking and feeling. I’ve been there and still go through it once in a while.

Yet, as a business owner you have to know the value of your time. If you can take four hours a day and generate $1K in revenue does it make sense to hire someone at $10 or $12 an hour to work for you?

Sometimes you have to invest the money before you make any back. That’s what I did when I hired my new web designer. I’ve spent more than I’ve made so far but I am able to focus on the activities that will generate money.

I decided to take a loss for 2 to 3 months while the systems and structure is put into place. Are you willing to do the same for your business? If not, are you really in business? At some point you will have to take risks.

If you want to stop wasting time and develop effective time management skills you need to delegate things you do not like doing and focus on the stuff that you like that can generate revenue for you.

What are you going to do?

Until next time!

Take care, be safe and stay blessed!
