It’s been 3-months since I posted to my blog. While it may appear I have neglected my duties it was for a good cause.
Much of my time was spent reevaluating business objectives and personal goals.
I realized something that plague many online marketers and I will share it with you.
As you begin to learn how to market your products and services on the Internet and make a little money you get excited. You see so many opportunities and find it difficult to pick one.
So, what do you do? You attempt to do them all (or most of them)!
Days, weeks, months and years pass and you are still working on those projects but why? It’s really simple…
…you bit off more than you can chew. In other words, you spread yourself too thin and cannot do anything effectively. Instead of building on what is working you focus on what’s not working and why.
While I had my core sites and revenue streams I spent money and wasted time on projects I should not have touched.
“But how did I end up getting stuck in that rut as I’m far from stupid” is what I thought!
Here’s how it works:
- You make money
- You get some skills under your belt
- You see the opportunities
- You begin chasing after these opportunities
- You invest a lot of time and spend some money
- Months or years later you have very little to show for it
- Projects are incomplete at best
- You wonder, “What happened?”
- And you neglect the projects that could have provided a nice ROI
Now you see why I had to reevaluate business objectives and personal goals. They were separate when they should have been combined to form a cohesive plan.
After getting rid of the fat and letting many things go, I am now focused on three sites with this one detailing my journey and lessons learned.
So, if you feel overwhelmed I would suggest you press the pause button, double check what you’re doing and remove those things that are not working for you.
Until next time,
Take care, be safe and stay blessed.
